TV Snark is a television entertainment news site showcasing television newS, RECAPS & reviews, ratings, AND FORUMS, ALL WITH a side of our snarky thoughts (and yours).

We believe snarking can come from a place of love. Many times we mock our favorite shows because we adore them. In some cases we mock them because we enjoy laughing at their unintentional humor, in that they're so bad they're good. In other cases we mock them because deep down we want them to be better, we know they can be better, and we may have even seen them be better in earlier days. We welcome a community of fans who can respect each other's differences in opinion while sharing the ability to snark with love.

"Ringer" Revived! Well, Sort of, Not Really, But Hey, Can We Pretend? In "Other People's Houses," Perhaps?

"Ringer" Revived! Well, Sort of, Not Really, But Hey, Can We Pretend? In "Other People's Houses," Perhaps?

Ringer fans, rejoice! SMG (also known as Sarah Michelle Gellar) plus Ringer co-creators Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder are teaming up for a new “dramedy” titled Other People’s Houses. Also on the production team: some guy named Neil Meron, who’s apparently responsible for NBC live-action musicals The Sound of Music Live!, The Wiz Live!, Hairspray Live!, Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, and the upcoming Bye Bye Birdie Live!.

With pedigrees like this, we fully expect Other People’s Houses to feature a dramatically comic tale about how Bridget and Siobhan switch places, lives — and houses! once more with feeling while they break! into! song!

Siobhan’s A-L-IIIIIIIIII-VE!!!

Ha…we can dream, right? The real synopsis reads something more like this: Through the lens of social media, the characters will navigate emotional ups and downs as they try to figure out their lives as partners, parents, friends and neighbors. And in the middle of the block — and the center of the drama — are our two main characters, two mothers (one stay-at-home, one working).

Hmm, OK, so translation:

Siobhan and Bridget both discover Facebook.

Siobhan posts lots of super annoying selfies about her rich, fantabulous life.

Bridget gets jealous.

Meanwhile, in reality, Siobhan is actually miserable, because, you know, our fantabulous lives on social media are all a lie. A lie, I tell ya!

Siobhan invites Bridget over for tea.

Takes her out on another horribly green-screened boat ride.

Then jumps to her death in the sea!

Bridget, foolishly, decides to switch places with Siobhan AGAIN! This time with a much more technologically advanced smartphone — hey, she’s got the iPhone 5c, guys! — then starts posting SUPER HAPPY selfies on Insta showing off her exciting new life!

BUT THEN…

That super-ugly-scary BODAWAY catches those Instagram posts and notices a rare imperfection on Bridget’s face that Siobhan doesn’t have and realizes this is BRIDGET! Damn, it Bridget, you should have played with those Instagram filters before posting…

BODAWAY tracks Bridget down and tries to kill her! But then, in a last-minute twist, just as Bodaway is about to knock Bridget out, Siobhan shows up to the rescue.

But then…the show gets canceled just like Ringer did, leaving audiences worldwide pissed off all over again, as Bridget and Siobhan never get to have that delicious face-to-face reunion conversation we’ve waited NINE YEARS for!

In case you were wondering, that face-to-face reunion was going to go something like this…

If you can’t handle the anticipation of what will likely end in another unjustly canceled ending to an SMG-led series, you can also just rewatch Ringer, which has finally become available on the CW Seed. Sadly, for whatever asinine reason, you cannot purchase Ringer on DVD nor can you purchase Ringer episodes on iTunes, Amazon, YouTube or Google Play. (But hey, for now, you can still buy episodes on Vudu, which only lets you watch in the very ugly Standard Definition if you connect your computer via HDMI to your television). Talk about a much-too-maligned series! There’s a conspiracy against us, Ringer fans, I tell ya…

What’s your take? Sound off in the article comments below, or join the discussion in our very snarky forum! Unlike any other television forum site, we offer episode-specific topic threads for any and every series, including Ringer! Take that, unfair TV gods!
